General Description: Under direct supervision, the Systems Engineer – Windows performs basic application, database, email, and web duties, including but not limited to, system installs, patches, software installation, configuration, upgrades, and security for the Cloud environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Perform Application Administration for Discount Tire's AWS and Azure hosted and on-premise private cloud Windows environment according to team best practices.Evaluate and deploy software packages to stage and production environmentsParticipate in the configuration and maintenance of user access.Perform basic patch testing, deployment, and maintenance activitiesPerform basic disaster recovery testing for applicationsTroubleshoot basic problems to define and resolve Windows system, application and/or customer issuesManage assigned environment, recommends modifications to address issues with performance or securityMonitor system activity and recommends parameter tuningProvide technical assistance to services and operations teamsProvide input to created documentation for internal support teamsStay current on the latest industry technologies, trends, and strategiesAssist employees, vendors, or other customers by answering questions related to application procedures and servicesComplete work in a timely and accurate manner while providing exceptional customer serviceOther duties as assignedRequirements Qualifications:Minimum of 4 years' experience in general administration of production and development Windows environmentsKnowledge building and supporting Windows servers hosted at AWS and AzureKnowledge in supporting VMWare environments preferredFamiliarity with Terraform infrastructure automation a plusFamiliarity with Avamar backup and recovery tool setExperience managing Entrust and/or Microsoft Certificate AuthoritiesGeneral knowledge of the following: server operating systems, server topologies, server hardware, and security is required.Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including skills with Word and Excel are necessaryBasic understanding of network components and function is requiredRetail (IT) experience preferredAbility to meet established service levels, availability, performance, data privacy, and security guidelines is necessaryThis position requires good verbal and written communication skills.The ability to work efficiently under pressure, accurately meet deadlines and present a professional demeanor is essential.Ability to work independently and in a team is vital.Customer service skills, including the ability to manage and respond to different customer situations while maintaining a positive and friendly attitude are essential.Maintaining confidentiality, treating others with respect and upholding Company values are key attributes.In addition, organizational and problem-solving skills, a can-do attitude, and the ability to adjust to changing requirements are essential.Proven ability to respond to different organizational situations while maintaining a positive and friendly attitude is necessary.Educational Requirements: This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, IT Software Engineering or related technical field or equivalent work experience. Work Days: Normal work days are Monday through Friday. Occasional Saturdays and Sundays may be necessary.
