Example Projects and Toolsets · Java · MySQL, SQL Server (optional) · TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, CSS · REST API (produce, consume) · DevOps, CI/CD · AWS infrastructure · Data migration, data transformation Position Description We are looking for a qualified Software Engineer and plan to hire immediately. All work must be conducted within the U.S., and U.S. citizenship is required based upon government agency security requirements. We have both mid-level and senior-level developers currently but are looking to add an additional developer to focus on application re-design. A candidate with ample knowledge of Java and MySQL is preferred. This position will work with core staff located in the central Kentucky area but may perform work remotely. The Software Engineer will: · Be a key member of a high-performing software engineering team · Be a self-starter, working independently on assigned projects · Coordinate frequently, participating in daily development meetings and one-on-one calls · Collaborate on application design and development with other developers · Develop software solutions by analyzing requirements, data inputs, process workflow, and desired outcomes · Troubleshoot problem areas and identify root causes of application defects · Implement and consume REST APIs · Integrate with identity providers and implement role-based permission authorization · Adhere to software development lifecycle, development conventions, and configuration management processes established by team · Track development work in ticketing system · Document code design and implementation details · Sync code across multiple feature branches in Git repositories and create merge/pull requests Required Qualifications · Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience · 5+ years of professional software development experience · Comprehensive Java experience · In-depth SQL knowledge · Experience with web technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScriptAbility to produce and consume REST APIs · Ability to collaborate closely with peers, work independently, and self-initiate project-related tasks · Ability to ramp up knowledge quickly in a new business domain · Working knowledge of Visual Studio, VS Code, SSMS, Git and related tools, concepts, commands, workflows · Experience preparing user stories and documenting solution requirements, design, and release notes Additional Desired Skills · Experience with TypeScript desirable · Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps · Experience with Docker concepts and tools · Experience with cloud infrastructure and deployment (AWS preferred) · Basic understanding of Bash shell commands, Linux · Strong analytical ability, close attention to detail · Ability to reliably and consistently deliver high-quality code · Experience with an Agile methodology Job Type: Full-time Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year Benefits: Dental insurance Health insurance Life insurance Paid time off Retirement plan Vision insurance Schedule: 8 hour shift Monday to Friday Education: Bachelor's (Required) Location: Lexington, KY (Preferred) Work Location: Remote
