Job Summary: The AS400 Programmer Analyst will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and supporting AS400 applications with a focus on EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) and RPG (Report Program Generator) programming. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing EDI transactions, designing RPG programs, and integrating AS400 systems with other enterprise applications.Key Responsibilities:EDI Integration:Design, develop, and implement EDI solutions for various business processes using industry standards (e.g., EDIFACT, ANSI X12).Configure and maintain EDI translation and communication tools.Troubleshoot and resolve EDI-related issues, ensuring seamless data exchange between trading partners.Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to define EDI requirements and specifications.RPG Programming:Develop, modify, and maintain RPG programs to support business operations and integrate with EDI systems.Write and optimize RPG code for efficiency, maintainability, and performance.Implement enhancements and fixes to existing RPG programs as needed.System Integration and Support:Ensure seamless integration of AS400 systems with other enterprise applications and databases.Monitor and maintain AS400 environments, including performance tuning and troubleshooting.Provide technical support for end-users and assist in resolving application-related issues.Documentation and Reporting:Create and maintain detailed documentation for EDI processes, RPG programs, and system integrations.Generate reports and provide analysis on EDI transactions, system performance, and program metrics.Qualifications:Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).Experience:Minimum 10 years of experience with AS400 systemsProven experience in designing and implementing EDI solutions.Strong proficiency in RPG III and RPG IV (RPGLE).Experience with EDI translation tools and communication protocols.Technical Skills:Expertise in AS400/IBM iSeries environments, including DB2 database management.Proficiency in CL (Control Language) and SQL (embedded SQL in RPG).Familiarity with system integration techniques and tools.
