Position Details Job Title: Software Engineer (Cloud Engineer) Job Type: Full-Time Consultant (12-Month Assignment) Location: Ridley Park, PA Schedule: Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Pay Rate: Starting at $59.87 per hour About the Role As a Software Engineer on the Digital Analytics and System Health team, you'll play a vital role in designing, implementing, and securing cloud-based solutions that support advanced aerospace systems. You'll leverage modern cloud technologies, DevSecOps methodologies, and automation practices to deliver reliable, scalable, and secure capabilities across multiple cloud environments. Working alongside talented engineers, developers, and stakeholders, you'll help drive innovation while ensuring the highest standards of security, performance, and operational excellence. What You'll Do In this role, you'll be responsible for: Cloud Architecture & Engineering Design, implement, and operate secure, scalable cloud architectures across AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Optimize cloud environments for performance, reliability, cost efficiency, and security Develop and maintain cloud-native applications and services following industry best practices Infrastructure Automation Build and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using: Terraform CloudFormation ARM Templates Comparable automation frameworks Develop automated testing, configuration management, and version-controlled infrastructure deployments DevSecOps & Security Integrate security throughout the software development lifecycle Implement identity and access management controls and zero-trust security principles Automate compliance monitoring, governance controls, and policy enforcement Support vulnerability management, patching, secret management, and software bill of materials (SBOM) generation Implement security controls aligned with NIST, CIS Benchmarks, OWASP, and industry standards Containerization & Orchestration Build, harden, and manage containerized environments using: Docker Kubernetes Configure runtime security, network policies, RBAC, service mesh architectures, and container security controls CI/CD & Deployment Develop and maintain secure CI/CD pipelines Support deployment strategies including: Blue/Green Deployments Canary Releases Automated Rollbacks Manage secure artifact repositories and deployment automation Monitoring & Compliance Monitor cloud environments using centralized logging, alerting, and threat detection tools Respond to security incidents and support incident response activities Conduct risk assessments, threat modeling, and architecture reviews Author technical documentation, operational runbooks, and architecture decisions Collaboration & Innovation Collaborate with software development teams, customers, and stakeholders Translate business and security requirements into scalable technical solutions Participate in platform and application security reviews Drive continuous improvement initiatives across cloud and DevSecOps environments Required Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or a related technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience Typically 5+ years of related experience in: Cloud Engineering DevOps DevSecOps Cloud Security Infrastructure Engineering Technical Qualifications Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform: AWS Microsoft Azure Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Strong programming and scripting skills in one or more of the following: Python Bash Go Java JavaScript Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions Proficiency with CI/CD platforms such as: Jenkins GitLab CI CircleCI Experience with: Git and version control practices Docker Kubernetes Automated testing frameworks Strong understanding of: Networking concepts Cloud security practices Security protocols Risk-based security methodologies Deep knowledge of DevSecOps principles, including: SAST/DAST Container security Image scanning Secret management Policy as Code Software Bill of Materials (SBOM) Excellent communication and collaboration skills Preferred Qualifications Candidates with the following experience will stand out: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field Cloud certifications such as: AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert CompTIA Cloud+ Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP) Experience within the Aerospace industry Experience supporting government or military programs Familiarity with regulatory and compliance environments Experience working in highly secure, mission-critical systems environments Why Join Us?
