Construction ControllerLocation: San Antonio, TXWork Schedule: HybridOverviewResponsible for leading accounting operations, financial reporting, compliance, and team leadership within a project-based construction environment. This role also supports percentage-of-completion (POC) accounting, in-house tax coordination, and overall financial integrity of the organization.ResponsibilitiesLead and manage the monthly close process, ensuring financial statements are completed and issued by mid-month, along with accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual GAAP reportingOversee cash flow management, daily cash positioning, banking relationships, and support project-level financial performance tracking and profitability analysisServe as primary liaison with external CPA firm and coordinate audit, tax, regulatory, payroll, and compliance requirementsERP system usage and improvements, driving process optimization, reporting efficiency, and system accuracy across accounting functionsLead and mentor a small team while partnering with HR on personnel matters and overseeing payroll functionsTrack key financial performance indicators and ensure timely completion and accuracy of daily timesheet reporting across the organizationRequirementsMinimum of 10 years of progressive financial leadership experienceActive CPA license requiredBachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance (MBA preferred)Advanced proficiency in Excel, reporting systems, and financial software toolsProven ability to lead, develop, and manage accounting teams
