Your RoleAs a senior fundraising leader and advocate for Israel, the Director of Development plays a pivotal role in advancing the mission of the American Technion Society. Lead major gifts fundraising as a senior representative and advocate for Israel on behalf of the American Technion SocietyEngage high-net-worth donors and key influencers in the NY metro areaDrive regional major gifts strategy, pipeline development, and donor stewardshipPlan and execute high-impact cultivation and fundraising eventsPartner with lay leadership and report to the Senior Regional Director of Fundraising to maximize engagement and giving Primary DutiesManage and grow a portfolio of 100-150 donors, including those capable of $25K + Lead end-to-end major gifts activity: prospecting, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardshipMeet the requisite benchmarks and achievement levels for the assigned portfolio to contribute to the overall achievement of the ATS annual and long-term fundraising goals.Identify and grow new sources of support from individual major gift prospects and renew existing annual gifts as needed at the $25K+ level.Engage in direct and systematic prospect identification, cultivation and solicitation and stewardship of high-net-worth prospects and ensuring proper and timely follow up.Partner with Executive Director of Planned Giving to identify potential candidates for planned giving cultivation and solicitation, as well as additional major gift prospects.Utilize the ATS database to maintain accurate records of all donor interactions, individuals’ programmatic interests, trends in giving and type of support to solicit. Assess giving potential, recommend target ask amounts, develop personalized strategies, and secure gifts from each respective prospect.Partner with senior members of the ATS team on strategy, cultivation, and face-to-face visits with donors.Partner with volunteer and lay leaders to expand networks and philanthropic impact, including but not limited to NY Metro Board leadershipRepresent ATS and the Technion through high-impact events and donor-facing initiativesCollaborate with colleagues on annual and long-term fundraising strategies, tracking progress toward goalsQualifications/SkillsStrategic thinker with 10+ years in major gifts fundraising, ideally in education, preferably in higher education, technology, or advocacy organizationEntrepreneurial and self-motivated. Skilled at operating at a high level, creating solutions and making sound decisions in a complex yet collaborative and supportive work environmentExcellent decision-making skills and demonstrated ability to independently implement fundraising strategies. Ability to travel throughout the NY Metro region and strengthen ATS's presence in deploying strategic resources for philanthropic growth Ability to work nights and weekends for ATS events and meetings as needed.
