The ACI Group is seeking anAdult Physiciatrist with experience treating Spasticity(post-stroke recovery, MS, TBI/spinal cord injury)to serve as a Clinical Expert Consultant for a short-term engagement with CMS as part of the Medicare Drug Price Negotiation Program, created under the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022.CMS is conducting interviews with clinical experts to better understand the current treatment landscape and clinical considerations for specific conditions and associated therapies. The insights gathered will help inform CMS’ evidence-based decision-making process related to high-cost drugs under the Medicare program.Role Summary
Selected clinical expert will participate in a structured virtual interview (typically 60–90 minutes) and may provide limited follow-up feedback (total estimated time commitment: 3–5 hours).
Discussions will focus on clinical experience, treatment patterns, patient populations, and relevant medical evidence.Key Responsibilities
Participate in a virtual interview with CMS representatives.
Provide objective, evidence-based insights on current treatment options and clinical decision-making forAdult Spasticity (post-stroke recovery, MS, TBI/spinal cord injury).
Offer perspective on unmet needs, standard of care, and clinical factors influencing treatment outcomes.
Review and provide limited feedback on interview materials if requested.
Maintain confidentiality and comply with all CMS participation requirements.Qualifications
Board-certified Adult Physiciatrist.
Active clinical practice or recent experience treatingAdult patients with Spasticity (post-stroke recovery, MS, TBI/spinal cord injury).
Knowledge of current clinical guidelines and therapeutic options within the specialty area.
Experience contributing to clinical guideline development (preferred).
Active involvement in research (preferred).
Strong communication skills and ability to clearly articulate clinical reasoning.Time Commitment
Approx. 3–5 hours total (includes interview, preparation, and any follow-up correspondence).
Flexible scheduling; interviews conducted remotely via videoconference.

Through the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022, CMS now directly negotiates prices for select high-cost drugs. As part of this effort, CMS engages independent clinical experts to gather perspectives on the clinical use, effectiveness, and value of these therapies. Clinicians provide insight into real-world treatment considerations but are not involved in any price-setting discussions or negotiations.
