About the JobJob Description: Registered Nurse - Surgical ICU (SICU)Position Overview:We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse for a critical care role performing integrated pre- and post-operative functions. This position requires the intuitive application of the nursing process and broad clinical knowledge to provide compassionate, high-quality care to patients in a specialized surgical intensive care setting.Core Responsibilities:Assessment (25%): Conduct comprehensive physical, emotional, and psychosocial assessments of patients and their family support systems.Coordination (25%): Organize and coordinate all aspects of patient care tailored to real and perceived patient needs.Evaluation (25%): Correlate patient data with nursing expertise to evaluate progress and ensure goals align with the established plan of care or clinical path.Collaboration (25%): Consult and collaborate with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to plan and implement total patient care.Submission Requirements:Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of dedicated Surgical ICU (SICU) experience is required.Travel History: Prior travel assignment history is preferred.EMR: Proficiency in Epic EMR is preferred.Scheduling: All time-off requests must be disclosed at the time of submission. Requests made after an offer is extended will not be approved and may result in a rescinded offer.Profile & Documentation Requirements:Work History: Complete and up-to-date professional history.Skills Checklist: Current (within 1 year) and pertinent to the ICU specialty.References: Two completed supervisory reference forms from within the last two years.Certifications (AHA Only):Active American Heart Association BLS.Active American Heart Association ACLS.Licensure: Must hold an active Michigan (MI) State License in good standing (verified via LARA/Nursys).
