Field-Programmable Gate Arrays Engineer
We are seeking an experienced FPGA Engineer to join a cross-functional engineering team focused on the design, verification, and testing of modem and signal-processing FPGA firmware for advanced radio communication systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in RTL development using VHDL along with hands-on experience in FPGA verification methodologies utilizing SystemVerilog.The selected candidate will be responsible for analyzing system requirements, developing FPGA specifications and implementation plans, creating comprehensive verification and test strategies, coding firmware designs in VHDL, developing SystemVerilog-based test benches, and ensuring designs meet functional and performance requirements through rigorous verification and hardware integration activities.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and verify FPGA/ASIC-based embedded system solutions for communication and signal-processing applications.Analyze system and customer requirements to create FPGA architecture specifications and development plans.Develop RTL firmware using VHDL and/or Verilog for high-performance FPGA implementations.Create verification environments and test benches using SystemVerilog to validate FPGA functionality and performance.Execute FPGA verification, debugging, and validation activities to ensure compliance with design requirements.Integrate FPGA firmware with hardware platforms and support system-level bring-up and troubleshooting.Utilize FPGA vendor tools such as Xilinx Vivado, Intel Quartus, or Microchip Libero for synthesis, implementation, and timing analysis.Collaborate closely with systems, software, hardware, and test engineering teams throughout the development lifecycle.Work effectively within a Linux-based development environment for build, integration, and automation activities.Required QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in FPGA/ASIC development and verification.Strong experience with RTL development using VHDL and/or Verilog.Hands-on expertise in FPGA/ASIC verification methodologies using SystemVerilog.Experience developing embedded FPGA solutions for communication, modem, or signal-processing systems.Experience integrating FPGA firmware on hardware platforms and performing lab validation/debugging.Proficiency with FPGA vendor implementation tools such as Vivado, Quartus, or Libero.Experience working in Linux-based development environments.Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance for U.S. Military/Defense-related programs.Preferred SkillsExperience with modem design, DSP algorithms, or radio communication systems.Familiarity with FPGA simulation and debugging tools.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.Experience working in Agile or collaborative engineering environments.
