We are seeking a Sheeter Operator to join our team in Commack, NY. In this position, the primary focus will be to operate the sheeting machine which manages the conversion of large print rolls into individual sheets. At times, you may be required to operate other production machinery and equipment, for example, the shrink wrap machine and shipping / packaging station. Speed, accuracy and quality are your passions, but especially your ability to support the team and adapt to changes in order volume. You will be required to operate a forklift and clamp truck. Responsibilities: Manage all aspects of the sheeting machine including operation, troubleshooting and maintenance Process print rolls and handle a large quantity volume per day Inspect Sheets from every roll Perform quality control inspections and remove defective sheets prior to finishing and shipping Identify safety, quality and production issues and communicate issues to Production Leads Offer ideas for continuous improvement within the production process Stay informed of department goals and understand how sheeting activities support operations Crosstrain on other printing machinery as needed and develop the capacity to support other team members in production Maintain a clean workstation at all times Perform machine maintenance as required Deliver high quality cut loads to pressroom Cross-collaboration with other teams and departments Help prioritize workflow to ensure optimal daily efficiency and productivity Check all job order notes and ensure all jobs ship complete and accurate Other duties as assigned Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required 1-2 years of experience, in same or similar role Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment (24-hour turnaround on product) Aptitude for mechanical operation Adherent to all safety procedures Superb attention to detail and product quality Excellent attendance and punctuality; accurately record work time daily Able to operate a computer and time clock machines Physical Requirements: Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment (24-hour turnaround on product) Aptitude for mechanical operation Adherent to all safety procedures Superb attention to detail and product quality Excellent attendance and punctuality - accurately record work time on a daily basis Able to operate a computer and time clock machines Req Benefits: Why work with us?
