Collateral Specialist

Job Description Job Summary:The Loan Servicer/Collateral Specialist will assist with servicing activities of current or recently past due loans and create or review loan documents assisting with processes necessary to protect and recover collateral.Duties/Responsibilities:Assist with incoming calls and returned or past due payments within 1-5 days past due.Review and process Same as Cash promotional offers and payoffs.Ensure perfection of collateral documents such as titles, insurance, and UCC finance statements.Verifying all collateral documents are present, audit documents for original vs. copies.Collects, reviews, and analyzes data related to the company's information systems and functions.Initiates and monitors the collateral recovery process and related documentation.Determines whether a system or function is operating according to organizational and industry procedures and guidelines.Conducts frequent reports and efficiency analysis on assigned services and systems to identify delinquent customers and remedies for default.Identifies discrepancies, risks, and other problems, then reports findings to upper management; recommends appropriate corrective measures.Communicates with clients.Performs other related duties as assigned.Required Skills/Abilities:Good accounting and internal auditing skills.Works well with time-sensitive documents and completing tasks or projects with hard deadlines.Proficient understanding and use of representative sampling techniques.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 or related software.Education and Experience:Experience with Vehicle Titling and legal processes such as bankruptcy and UCC filing required.Physical Requirements:Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
