Execution Strategist (HFT – Equities & Futures)A hedge fund's Execution team is seeking an Execution Strategist focused on the design, research, and implementation of high-frequency trading (HFT) execution algorithms across equities and futures markets.Role OverviewThis role sits at the intersection of quantitative research and low-latency engineering. The successful candidate will work on developing and optimizing order execution strategies, with a strong emphasis on market microstructure, statistical modeling, and real-time decision-making for order placement.The individual will collaborate closely with traders, quants, and engineers to improve execution quality, reduce transaction costs, and enhance overall trading performance.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, implement, and optimize HFT execution algorithms for equities and futures marketsDevelop and refine statistical and quantitative models for order placement and execution timingAnalyze market microstructure data to improve execution performance and reduce slippageWork on smart order routing, liquidity detection, and execution scheduling strategiesConduct post-trade analysis to evaluate strategy effectiveness and identify areas for improvementCollaborate with engineering teams to build robust, low-latency C++ trading systemsRequired Skills & Experience1–5 years of relevant experience in quantitative trading, execution, or market makingStrong programming experience in C++ (low-latency or systems programming preferred)Solid understanding of quantitative/statistical methods applied to trading or order executionExperience with order placement strategies and execution algorithmsFamiliarity with equities and/or futures markets and electronic trading systemsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsPreferred AttributesExposure to high-frequency trading environmentsUnderstanding of market microstructure and exchange mechanicsExperience with performance tuning and latency-sensitive systemsAbility to operate effectively in a fast-paced, research-driven trading environment
