We are seeking a Developer Lead (Architect) to drive strategy, architecture, and stakeholder alignment for a large-scale data platform transformation. This role will lead the migration from Oracle to Snowflake, establish engineering standards, and serve as the primary technical leader for complex data architecture, governance, and delivery. The ideal candidate combines deep hands-on technical expertise with strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.*** This role requires 5 days a week being onsite in Downtown Los Angeles. Candidates must be able to work on a W2 basis.*** C2C is not available at this time.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Design & GovernanceDefine and implement the target Snowflake data architecture, including Bronze/Silver/Gold data modeling layers.Lead the transition from Oracle PL/SQL (row-based) to Snowflake columnar SQL and modern data engineering practices.Establish and enforce Snowflake security and RBAC governance, coordinating with application teams, vendors, and partners.Define dbt standards and best practices, including: - Global macros and reusable frameworks, Materialization strategies (Incremental vs. Table), CI/CD pipelines and code quality standardsStakeholder & Change ManagementLead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and business validation for inbound and availability data workflows.Translate technical migration gaps into clear business impact and mitigation strategies.Act as the primary escalation point for critical (P0) data migration issues and discrepancies affecting reporting.Own the cutover and go-live runbook, managing final production sync from Oracle to Snowflake.Lead and manage offshore engineering resources and deliverables.Data Engineering & Development LeadershipEstablish and document technical requirements for reporting solutions, including:Data models, tables, and viewsReport design specificationsUnit test plans and test casesParticipate in all phases of the development lifecycle:Requirements gatheringAnalysis and designDevelopment and testingImplementation and production supportDevelop and maintain complex SQL transformations and data models to support Power BI reporting and analytics.Facilitate SQL design sessions and conduct code reviews and walkthroughs to ensure adherence to standards and best practices.Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for data models, development standards, and architecture guidelines.Recommend improvements to development standards and architecture using industry best practices and emerging technologies.Conduct unit testing and support user testing to ensure data quality and functionality.Mentor and train team members on development processes and standards.Cloud & Data Integration ArchitectureDesign and implement AWS-based data lake solutions for vendor inbound and outbound data exchange.Build and maintain integrations using modern cloud tools, including: - , Fivetran, AWS Glue, AWS Transfer Family, AWS Step Functions, AWS EventBridge, AWS LambdaRequired Qualifications10+ years of professional experience5+ years of experience as a dbt Developer, with strong expertise in Snowflake.Advanced SQL development and data modeling expertise.Experience with Git, pull requests, and Visual Studio Code.Proven experience leading complex data migrations and enterprise data architecture initiatives.Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional leadership skills.Experience managing offshore teams and distributed delivery models.Preferred QualificationsExperience supporting BI and analytics teams (Power BI preferred).Experience building and managing AWS-based data lake architectures.Strong background in enterprise data governance, security, and CI/CD.
