Fleet Mechanic
Core Capabilities:Customer and quality focusEffective communication skills (both verbal and written)Team workExcellent problem solving abilitiesResponsibility and dependabilityOrganizedJob Duties:Read and interpret owner, operator, and manufacturer operating manuals and service specifications to complete job tasksTest, diagnose, and repair equipment including; diesel powered vehicles, single axle dump trucks, excavators, pick up trucks, and other landscape construction equipmentTest, diagnose, and repair small engine equipmentComplete all repairs to high standards of safety and qualitySchedule and conduct regular preventative maintenance inspection and repairs on any/all company equipmentObserve or monitor objects to determine compliance with prescribed operating or safety standardsService equipment and working toolsLiaise with suppliers to order any required parts and maintain inventoryMaintain and enforce standards of cleanliness and organization in shop and equipment areasComplete maintenance reports, work orders, and any other required paperworkWear appropriate personal protective equipment at all timesComply with all company policies and regulationsWork in accordance with all local health and safety laws and regulationsAssist with employee training on daily inspections, care, and proper use of vehicles and equipmentRequirements:Equipment Mechanic Trade Certification or equivalentMinimum 2 years of proven experience in repair/maintenance of heavy equipment or related machineryAbility to detect and diagnose operating problemsCapable of operating required equipment and tools in a safe and responsible mannerTime management skillsAbility to read and interpret operator and manufacturer specificationsMust possess a valid drivers licenseKnowledge of specific materials, methods, tools and equipment required to complete various job tasksStrong attention to detailAbility to work both independently with little supervision, and as part of a teamAbility to walk, stand, crouch for long periods of time and carry out strenuous physical tasksExperience with maintenance welding is an assetWork Conditions:Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. repeatedly through an entire work shiftWilling to travel regularly to complete on-site maintenance and repairsAbility to work in a fast paced environmentWork near heavy equipment and other vehicles on a regular basisWork outdoors in various conditions at times including heat and humidity, rain, dust, noise, and coldFlexible working hours including occasional weekend work (during snow removal season)Established in 1995, we understand that our people make us successful and we want to hire the best.
