A global leader in business and technology services.Job Title: Forward Deployed Engineer (Java Full Stack)Location: Minneapolis, MN (Onsite)Type: W2 Contract Rate: $100 - 110/hr on W2Overall IT experience: 15+ YearsOverviewWe are seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) with 15 years of software engineering experience to build and deploy modern,AI-enabled business applications. This role is ideal for a hands-on full-stack developer who combines strong software engineering fundamentalswith an interest in emerging AI technologies and customer-focused solution delivery.Key Responsibilities• Design, develop, and deploy end-to-end business applications.• Build scalable APIs, microservices, and cloud-native solutions.• Develop front-end applications using React or similar frameworks.• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and deliver solutions.• Leverage AI-assisted development tools and modern engineering practices to accelerate delivery.• Participate in Agile development and contribute to CI/CD and DevOps initiatives.Required Qualifications• 15 years of software engineering experience.• Strong background in Java and full-stack application development.• Experience with one or more of the following: TypeScript/JavaScript, Node.js, C#, or Python.• Hands-on experience building APIs, microservices, and cloud-native applications.• Front-end development experience using React or similar frameworks.• Knowledge of Azure, Azure OpenAI, OpenAI, or other modern AI platforms.• Experience using AI-assisted coding tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or Codex.• Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills.Preferred Qualifications• Experience with LangChain, LangGraph, Agent SDKs, or multi-agent frameworks.• Exposure to AI agents, workflow automation, or LLM-powered applications.• Understanding of DevOps, CI/CD, and modern software delivery practices.• Experience in Healthcare, PBM, Insurance, or other regulated industries is a plus.Ideal CandidateA traditional full-stack software engineer who has expanded into AI-enabled application development, rather than a data scientist transitioning intosoftware engineering.Candidates should be curious, adaptable, and comfortable working in fast-paced, customer-facing environments.About Trident:Trident Consulting is a premier IT staffing firm providing high-impact workforce solutions to Fortune 500 and mid-market clients.
