Hydraulic Shovel Technician 5/11/26 Elko, Nevada, USA, 89801 35824 Onsite PositionJoin Komatsu and Be Part of Something Big!Job OverviewThe Hydraulic Shovel Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining Komatsu hydraulic mining shovels and related equipment. This role ensures equipment reliability and performance by addressing complex electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic issues in a safe, efficient, and professional manner while supporting customer operations in the field.Key Job ResponsibilitiesSafety & ComplianceDemonstrate a strong commitment to Komatsu and customer safety policies, proceduresPerform all work in accordance with MSHA regulations and site-specific safety requirementsConduct hazard identification and risk assessments prior to task executionEnsure proper Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures are followed at all timesTroubleshooting & DiagnosticsDiagnose and troubleshoot complex electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems on hydraulic shovelsUtilize diagnostic tools, schematics, and technical manuals to isolate equipment faultsIdentify root causes and implement corrective actions to minimize repeat failuresSupport failure analysis and provide detailed feedback for continuous improvementRepairs & MaintenancePerform repairs and component replacements on hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systemsMaintain components such as pumps, cylinders, valves, drive systems, and control systemsConduct preventative maintenance and inspections to ensure optimal performance and uptimeTechnical Knowledge & ExecutionInterpret electrical schematics, hydraulic flow diagrams, and mechanical drawingsApply troubleshooting best practices across integrated machine systemsUtilize laptops, diagnostic software, and onboard monitoring systems for fault identificationCommunication & DocumentationAccurately document work performed, parts used, and failure findingsCommunicate effectively with supervisors, planners, and customers regarding equipment statusProvide clear updates on repair timelines, delays, or additional work requirementsSupport shift turnover communication to ensure continuityPlanning & OrganizationPrioritize tasks based on safety, production impact, and operational needsManage job scope, required parts, and tools effectivelyMaintain a clean and organized work environment, including service trucks and job sitesQualifications/RequirementsTechnical Qualifications: Proven experience with the diagnostics and repair of heavy hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems preferably related to mining equipment or similar heavy machinery.Education & Certifications: Completion of a relevant technical or trade certification (e.g., industrial mechanics, heavy equipment technician) is preferred.
