Through worship, fellowship, discipleship, outreach and partnership, we aim to reflect God's love, extend grace, and address the needs of our city through embodying the transformative message of the Gospel.Role DescriptionThe Marketing & Communications Coordinator is responsible for planning, creating, and distributing high-quality communication that reflects the mission, story, and culture of Mt. Olivet. This role oversees weekly newsletters, digital content, graphics, social channels, and internal communication projects. The coordinator works closely with the Senior Pastor, Information and Communications Team, ministry leaders, and staff to ensure that communication is clear, timely, visually excellent, and aligned with the church’s brand and mission. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about using design, digital communication, and modern tools (including AI-assisted workflows) to help a church grow, engage its congregation, and reach new audiences.QualificationsRequired Qualifications:Strong alignment with the mission, values, and culture of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Experience creating content using Canva or similar design tools.Familiarity with digital marketing concepts, social media platforms, and basic analytics.Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.Comfortable leveraging AI tools to enhance content creation and workflow efficiency.Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to work both independently and collaboratively.Preferred Qualifications: ·        A degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field is preferred. Professional certifications in digital marketing, social media management, or public relations (e.g., HubSpot, Hootsuite, or PRSA certifications) can be beneficial. ●        Minimum of 3 years of experience in marketing and communications, preferably within a nonprofit or faith-based organization. Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing campaigns and communication strategies. ●        Digital Marketing Proficiency, Content Creation Skills, Team Collaboration, Project Management. Experience in church communications, nonprofit marketing, or similar roles.Basic understanding of video editing or livestream graphics.Familiarity with church management systems (Planning Center, CCB, etc.)Experience writing for both digital and print platforms. Spiritual and Personal Qualifications:·        Spiritual: As a bona fide occupational qualification, one must hold strongly the following beliefs and aspects of character to the Church’s statements on faith, core values, mission and vision; all of which also include: a personal faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and demonstrated history of Christian living and witness, spiritual intimacy with God, moral integrity and a balanced and disciplined lifestyle. See additional qualifications outlined in I Timothy 3:1-12. ·        Personal: Must be free from the use or abuse of addictive substances (legal or illegal); have integrity in all personal affairs (including but not limited to being truthful and paying all financial obligations promptly); if married, and/or have children, must maintain a strong and stable family life; possess high moral character; and, be able to maintain confidence due to a close working relationship with the Senior Pastor and handling sensitive, confidential and personal matters.
