If youre looking to contribute your skills in a supportive environment, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.Position Overview: SpecialtyGeneral SurgeryLocationNear Hope Mills, NCStart DateASAPEnd DateOngoingPosition TypeLocum TenensCoverage TypeCall OnlyEMR SystemMediTech 6.1Practice SettingInpatientKey Responsibilities: Call CoverageProvide 24-hour call coverage from 7 AM to 7 AM, including holidays such as Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years Eve, and New Years Day.Be within 20 minutes of the facility while on call, as required by the bylaws.Bread and Butter General SurgeryHandle routine general surgery procedures including:Hernia repairCholecystectomyBreast surgeryMinor procedures like "lumps and bumps" and abscess drainageEndoscopy procedures (EGD and colonoscopy)AppendectomySmall bowel and colon surgeryPatient ManagementProvide high-quality care during call shifts, ensuring that all patients receive timely and effective treatment.Collaborate with the medical team to manage patient care and provide surgical interventions as needed.Practice Details: Certification and LicensureBoard CertificationRequired in General Surgery.LicensureMust hold a current North Carolina state medical license and NC DEA with an NC address.CertificationsABLS, ACLS, ATLS, BLS, and PALS certifications are mandatory.Medicaid CredentialingThe provider must be credentialed with NC Medicaid.Credentialing and BackgroundEstimated credentialing timeframe is approximately two weeks. A clean background with no recent or open malpractice cases is highly preferred.Malpractice or disciplinary history must be disclosed during the application process.Housing and TravelOn-Site HousingSurgeons will be provided with a hospital-owned individual apartment on-site.
