Non-Emergency Medical Transportation Driver
Description:
We are currently seeking a compassionate and reliable Non-Emergency Medical Transportation Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing safe and timely transportation for patients to and from medical appointments, ensuring their comfort and well-being throughout the journey.
Responsibilities:
Pick-up clients at home or other living facility using company provided vehicle. Provides the assistance required to safely board clients and caregivers.
Safely transport patients to and from medical appointments, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations
Assist patients with boarding and disembarking the vehicle, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times
Maintain a clean and well-organized vehicle, ensuring it is properly stocked with necessary supplies and equipment
Complete and maintain accurate records of all transportation activities, including mileage logs, patient information, and incident reports
Perform routine vehicle maintenance checks and report any issues or concerns to management
Adhere to all company policies and procedures, as well as local, state, and federal regulations regarding non-emergency medical transportation
Provide exceptional customer service, treating all patients with dignity and respect
Transport clients to and from medical appointments and clinics in Salisbury, Charlotte, and surrounding cities.
Ensures wheelchairs, stretchers, and passengers are properly secured before starting vehicle.
Check the vehicle to ensure that no personal items are left behind.
Other functions may be assigned.
Requirements:
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift, push, pull, and position clients frequently.*·
Ability to perform considerable reaching, stooping, and bending.*
Job Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Previous experience in non-emergency medical transportation or a related field is preferred
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to maintain a professional and compassionate demeanor in high-stress situations
Strong time management and organizational skills
Ability to lift and transfer patients, as needed
CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain upon hire
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening, background check, MVR screening, TB screening, and physical.
Must be capable of driving in inclement weather. *
Must be able to drive for extended periods of time and long distance, when required. *
Must be flexible to work early morning, mid-morning, and evening hours.*
Full-Time
$17.20 plus an additional $4.57 hr in benefits.
