This position supports the YMCA’s mission by ensuring that members, children, families, and staff experience a facility that reflects our commitment to health, safety, and belonging.QualificationsPositive, solution-oriented attitude and commitment to teamworkExperience with commercial cleaning or facility maintenance preferredAbility to follow cleaning procedures and safety guidelinesAbility to read and interpret instructions, procedures, and manualsAbility to report maintenance needs or safety concerns promptlyKnowledge of cleaning methods, tools, and equipmentBasic understanding of cleaning chemicals and safe usageAbility to lift, move, or transport equipment and supplies with or without reasonable accommodationEssential FunctionsFacility cleanliness and maintenanceMaintain cleanliness and sanitation of assigned areas including classrooms, restrooms, locker rooms, common spaces, and fitness areasPerform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, window cleaning, and trash removalDisinfect high-touch surfaces and equipment multiple times per dayMaintain and restock paper products, soap dispensers, and sanitation suppliesEnsure hand sanitizer stations remain stocked and operationalFacility supportAssist with facility setup for events or activities as neededSupport seasonal facility needs including snow removal or grounds support when requiredIdentify and report facility maintenance issues promptlyFollow YMCA safety and security procedures and report hazards or incidents immediatelyMember and guest experienceHelp maintain a welcoming environment for all members, guests, children, and staffRespond promptly and courteously to requests from members or coworkersCommunicate clearly and respectfully with others to support a positive team environmentPerform additional duties as assigned to support facility operations and member experienceWork Environment and Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here represent those required to perform the essential functions of this role.
