We are Builders: We respect the work we do and everyone who helps make it happen safely.Position SummaryThe Process Mechanical Superintendent is responsible for leading field execution of complex process mechanical work on large water and industrial projects, with a strong focus on safety, quality, and productivity. This role plans and manages multiple self-perform process mechanical crews and could also supervise subcontractors, they oversee implementation of project-specific safety programs and task hazard analyses, and drives adherence to schedule and budget. The Process Mechanical Superintendent interprets contract documents and process mechanical drawings, coordinates with owners, inspectors, and other trades, and supports project teams with isometric drawings, shop drawings, and material planning. They play a key role in resolving field issues in real time, ensuring work is installed correctly the first time, and fostering a collaborative, problem-solving culture across the project team.ResponsibilitiesAssist in implementation of project-specific safety and accident prevention programs and maintain safe work areas through regular job-site inspectionsLead McCarthy’s Task Hazard Analysis (THA) process and implement all safety and EEO/Affirmative Action programsMaintain thorough understanding of project schedule and budget, enforcing plans and motivating employees to follow throughAssist project superintendent in locating/onboarding manpower, developing/implementing project plans and maintaining current contract documentsSchedule and manage multiple crews performing various tasks across the project siteAllocate resources, plan activities, review work and manage consumables/equipment, including compiling a comprehensive bill of materials and coordinating deliveriesComprehend contract drawings/specifications and communicate with owners, inspectors and other tradesCreate isometric drawings and assist project engineers in the shop drawing/submittal processQualifications7+ Years of experience in highly complex water or industrial construction projectsProcess mechanical experience requiredSelf-perform experience is strongly desiredAbility to work in a large team environment with a problem-solving, project-first mentalityDetermination to take control and achieve results in identifying issues, reaching resolution and communicating with all team members to ensure work is installed properly the first timeGeographically mobile and able to relocate within a region is preferredMcCarthy is proud to be an equal opportunity employer, including disability and protected veteran status.For Colorado locations only, In accordance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act (SB19-085), we are including McCarthy’s good-faith and reasonable estimate of a range of entry level base compensation at the time of the posting. Given the dynamic nature of the large-scale commercial construction industry, a candidate’s project portfolio and background can change the role and compensation for which that candidate might be qualified. The title and pay range for this role could change based on candidate qualifications and experience.
