VICE PRESIDENT, DATA CENTER ENGINEERINGLocation: North Dallas, TX (Hybrid)Employment Type: Direct HireCompensation: Competitive Base Salary + Bonus + Comprehensive Benefits + Relocation AvailableOVERVIEWWe are seeking a Vice President of Data Center Engineering to serve as the senior engineering leader responsible for the technical direction, design oversight, and operational performance of mission-critical data center infrastructure.This role will act as the enterprise engineering authority, leading multidisciplinary teams across mechanical, electrical, and infrastructure domains while establishing the engineering vision, standards, and long-term strategy for high-density compute environments.The VP will ensure that all facilities are designed, deployed, and operated to meet the highest standards of reliability, scalability, efficiency, and resiliency, while partnering closely with executive leadership, operations, and development teams to drive infrastructure excellence across the portfolio.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESExecutive Engineering Leadership• Lead and develop a high-performing organization of mechanical, electrical, and infrastructure engineers across multiple sites• Serve as the senior technical authority for all data center engineering decisions and standards• Define and drive enterprise engineering strategy aligned to business growth, capacity planning, and high-density compute demands• Establish engineering governance, design standards, and technical best practices across the organization• Provide executive-level guidance on infrastructure risk, performance, and long-term investment planningInfrastructure Engineering Strategy & Oversight• Oversee the engineering design, architecture, and technical implementation of mission-critical data center infrastructure systems• Ensure infrastructure supports high-density compute environments, including advanced cooling and power requirements• Guide engineering decisions across electrical systems, power distribution, cooling infrastructure, and thermal management• Drive standardization, scalability, and repeatability across new builds and existing facilities• Ensure infrastructure designs align with uptime, redundancy, and operational performance targetsDesign, Construction & Commissioning Leadership• Provide executive oversight across design development, construction, and commissioning phases of data center projects• Partner with development, construction, and engineering partners to ensure successful delivery of infrastructure programs• Establish commissioning standards, validation processes, and acceptance criteria for mission-critical systems• Support complex troubleshooting, system validation, and root cause analysis for critical infrastructure eventsVendor, Partner & Stakeholder Leadership• Build and manage strategic relationships with OEMs, engineering firms, and key infrastructure partners• Provide executive input into vendor selection, technology strategy, and long-term infrastructure solutions• Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Controls, and Facilities leadership to ensure alignment between design and operations• Act as a key stakeholder in executive-level decision making related to infrastructure investments and prioritiesGovernance, Risk & Compliance• Establish and maintain engineering policies, standards, and documentation practices across the organization• Ensure compliance with NFPA, ASHRAE, OSHA, and other relevant industry standards• Drive quality assurance, commissioning validation, and continuous improvement initiatives• Provide oversight of infrastructure risk management, resiliency planning, and operational readinessQUALIFICATIONS• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related technical discipline• 12–15+ years of experience in mission-critical data center engineering, infrastructure design, or operations• Proven experience leading engineering organizations within complex, high-availability environments• Deep expertise across data center mechanical and electrical infrastructure systems, including power and cooling architectures• Demonstrated ability to operate at both strategic and technical levels, influencing executive stakeholdersPREFERRED EXPERIENCE• Experience supporting large-scale, multi-site data center environments• Strong familiarity with high-density compute infrastructure and advanced cooling strategies (liquid cooling, hybrid environments)• Experience driving engineering standards and infrastructure strategy across rapidly growing platforms• Background working in hyperscale, HPC, or enterprise data center environments
