Behavioral Health or Substance Use Technician for Men's Residential Treatment Center

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS: · California Driver’s license with insurable DMV driving record. · Two (2) years of sobriety, if recovering. · Registered or certified as an alcohol drug counselor/technician. · Experience working in detox/residential treatment settings. · Experience working in the field of addiction. · Knowledge of EHR preferred. · Attention to detail and ability to be thorough and accurate. · Able to work both individually and part of a team. · Demonstrates ability to hand multiple tasks simultaneously and ability to work independently and creatively. DAILY DUTIES: Reporting to the agency’s Program Director, Technician is responsible for the following: · Reports to Program Director, or designee. · Facilitates client’s daily activities including wake up, supervision, assistance with meal service, laundry, etc. · Transports clients to and from necessary appointments and activities. · Observes and monitors client behavior and intervenes as needed, based on individual client treatment plan, program schedule and house needs. · Facilitates assigned groups/meetings/activities per program schedule. · Documents observations and milieu interventions in client records (minimum of one entry per 8-hour shift). · Coordinates treatment milieu with other counseling staff (via client record, staff communication, and treatment meetings). · Maintain shift log including summary of shift events. · Ensures transportation safety by conducting vehicle inspections and following safety rules. · Supervise clients with self-administration of client’s mediation, only after training is provided. · Ensure physical safety and security of the facility by conducting regular house checks. · Search all items that are brought into the facility and appropriately itemize and secure client valuables. · Assist with client intakes and welcome. · Facilitate client discharges. · May provide one-to-one supervision for any client at risk, as directed by supervisor or designee. · Understands and follows emergency procedures according to program policy. · In the absence of a chef, will prepare/cook meals, portion servings, clean dishes, and kitchen area. Label any leftover food. · Conducts UA drug screen collection and follows appropriate protocols. · Other duties as assigned by supervisor or Program Director.
