Technology Technician

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Technology Technician will troubleshoot and solve computer network related hardware, software, printer and connection problems. The technician will interact with staff and students alike to provide computer support.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of a two year degree in a computer related field or demonstrated competence/experience
Ability to troubleshoot and solve computer hardware and software problems
Possess good professional and personable communication skills
Ability to work respectfully with staff and students
Willingness to learn about new technology and adapt to its use
Possess a valid driver’s license
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide technical and maintenance support to computer workstations in all district buildings including but not limited to PowerSchool, G Suite, Azure, Microsoft Office, and Illuminate
Assist in providing or arranging ongoing in-service programs for all personnel to help keep them abreast of technological application, utilization technique, hardware and software changes as they apply to education
Promote the use of technology in education and integrating technology in the delivery of district curriculum, programs and services
Assist in training of systems support staff and users; serve as a resource person for systems development, hardware, software and user issues
Assist in the installation and configuration of systems and applications software
Diagnose technology hardware/software problems or arrange for repair of equipment at the Technology Director’s discretion
Promote legal procurement and use of all software supported by the district
Assist in the development and maintenance of district equipment and software inventory
Provide technical support for computer labs (i.e., workspace functionality, reporting network status, ghosting of workstations and installing/deleting appropriate software for instruction)
Provide end-user support through the Technology Service Desk (online and telephone)
Uphold board policies and follow administrative procedures
Serve as video technician in monthly board meetings
Perform other duties assigned by the Director of Technology, Superintendent, or designee
