Maintenance Supervisor - 2nd Shift

Maintenance SupervisorThis position reports to the Maintenance Manager and is responsible for the day-to-day leadership, prioritization, and execution of maintenance activities that keep Suncoast Chemicals' production equipment running safely, efficiently, and reliably. The primary responsibility of this role is to support production by assigning maintenance resources, responding to breakdowns, executing preventive maintenance, and following up to ensure repairs and work orders are completed correctly and with urgency.This position is a hands-on leadership role that works directly with mechanics, production supervisors, production leads, machine operators, and Operations leadership. The Maintenance Supervisor is expected to reduce downtime, improve equipment uptime, strengthen preventive maintenance execution, support equipment improvements, and build a maintenance culture focused on safety, ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.On a daily basis our Production Maintenance Supervisor:Lead daily maintenance priorities to support production schedules and keep the plant running safely and efficiently.Assign, delegate, and follow up on repairs, service requests, preventive maintenance, setup support, rebuilds, and project work for mechanics and maintenance associates.Respond with urgency to production downtime and equipment issues, ensuring repairs are completed safely, correctly, and in a timely manner.Use e-Maintenance software system to manage work orders, service requests, PM completion, equipment history, parts usage, repair tracking, and costing information.Support troubleshooting and repair of packaging, filling, blending, processing, conveying, and other production equipment used throughout the facility.Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, VFD, sensor, and basic controls-related issues in support of production needs.Read and understand mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics and support minor PLC programming changes, program uploads, or machine control support as needed.Work closely with production supervisors, leads, and operators to improve machine operation, setup consistency, startup and shutdown processes, changeovers, and daily equipment reliability.Provide daily direction, performance feedback, coaching, and accountability to maintenance associates while maintaining a positive, professional work environment.Assist with interviewing, hiring, onboarding, associate evaluations, training plans, and development of maintenance personnel.Support coverage across shifts, overtime, weekends, extended hours, rebuilds, breakdowns, shift changes, PTO coverage, and other production or maintenance needs as required.Partner with the Maintenance Manager and Operations leadership on equipment installations, machine rebuilds, layout changes, machine modifications, and improvement projects.Identify root causes of recurring equipment failures and support corrective actions that reduce downtime and prevent repeat issues.Review PM effectiveness and recommend improvements to PM tasks, frequencies, standards, spare parts, and maintenance procedures.Ensure maintenance work areas, tools, shops, and job sites are safe, clean, organized, and maintained to company expectations.Follow and enforce company safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, PPE requirements, and chemical facility standards while working around operating equipment and production areas.Interact with department heads, supervisors, and leads to support safety improvements, efficiency improvements, quality improvements, and long-term operational goals.Perform any other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager or Operations leadership.What You Will Need:High school diploma or equivalent required; technical school, trade certification, or related training preferred.Minimum of 5-10 years of industrial maintenance experience in manufacturing, packaging, filling, chemical, or similar production environment.Prior experience as a maintenance lead, senior mechanic, or maintenance supervisor preferred.Strong understanding of production maintenance, packaging equipment, filling equipment, machine setups, troubleshooting, and repair execution.Ability to make timely decisions, prioritize work, communicate clearly, and execute maintenance priorities through completion.Ability to work with and in a chemical environment using proper personal protective equipment as required.Ability to communicate and delegate effectively using verbal and written skills with maintenance associates, production supervisors, department managers, and plant leadership.Ability to climb stairs and routinely perform maintenance duties while working on or off ladders, maintenance lifts, elevated locations, or in tight spaces.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.Looking to work for the best in the industry?
