In this role, you’ll assist with planning, organizing, and leading recreational and therapeutic activity programs that promote socialization, independence, and overall quality of life.Activities are delivered in accordance with individualized resident capabilities, needs, and interests while meeting applicable state and federal guidelines.SummaryThe Activity Assistant / Coordinator supports the Life Enrichment or Activities program by assisting with group and individual activities designed to enhance residents’ physical, cognitive, emotional, and social well-being. This role works collaboratively with the care team to ensure activities are meaningful, inclusive, and person-centered.This Role May Also Be Known AsActivity Assistant, Activities Coordinator, Life Enrichment Assistant, or Recreation Aide.What You’ll DoAssist in planning, organizing, facilitating, and directing recreational activity programsSupport resident engagement through group and one-on-one activitiesAdapt activities to meet individual resident abilities, interests, and care plansEncourage resident participation and social interactionAssist with special events, celebrations, and community outingsCommunicate effectively with residents, families, and team membersMaintain documentation related to resident participation as requiredUphold Americare’s Mission, Vision, Hometown Hospitality™, and F.A.M.I.L.Y. valuesFollow all facility, state, and federal guidelines related to resident engagementWhat You BringQualificationsMust be at least 18 years of ageHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredAdditional education related to activities, recreation, or life enrichment preferred but not requiredValid driver’s license and ability to meet company requirements for transporting residentsCompassionate, creative, and resident-focused approachPhysical DemandsLift up to 25 lbs. and assist with resident transfers as neededPush, pull, and maneuver up to 100 lbs., including resident mobility assistanceManeuver resident wheelchairs weighing up to 350 lbs.Safety RequirementsFollow proper resident handling and transfer proceduresUtilize required PPE and safety equipmentAdhere to safe driving practices when transporting residentsReport work-related injuries within 12 hours and complete required documentationWork EnvironmentThis role is performed in a skilled nursing environment, including resident rooms, common areas, activity spaces, and community outing locations.Join Americare Senior Living and help bring connection, purpose, and joy to residents through meaningful engagement.Equal Opportunity EmployerAmericare Senior Living is committed to equal employment opportunities and welcomes applicants from all walks of life.
