Company DescriptionAt Center for Hope and Safety, our mission is to assist victims and survivors of domestic violence, including emotional, economic, sexual and physical abuse. We provide emergency and transitional housing, emotional support and a diversified continuum of services focused on safety, empowerment and self-sufficiency. What began as an emergency shelter for Domestic Violence 50 years ago has evolved into so much more to include career counseling, housing navigation assistance, Project CHILD – Creative Arts Therapy for children 4-12, free legal services and rental assistance through our Safe and Sustainable Futures Program.Role DescriptionWe are currently seeking a dynamic leader to provide vision, strategic direction and change management ensuring the organization’s consistent achievement of its mission, strategic plan and financial objectives. Key Responsibilities:Provide leadership for developing, managing and implementing the strategic planning process in order to develop clear comprehensive market driven strategies for the organization on a proactive basis to take the organization to the next level.Shape company culture, mission, and values, setting the "tone at the top" for the organization. Demonstrate honesty, optimism, focus and tenacity, especially in challenging situations, with a focus on finding solutions. Build trust through a direct approach in delivering both positive and negative messages.Oversight of the development and management of all programs to ensure that quality services are available to individuals and families in need of assistance or support.Oversee the organization's financial structure, ensuring adequate and sound funding for the mission and goals of the organization.Oversight of the preparation and monitoring of the annual budget, as well as annual and monthly income/expense reports for the organization.Oversight of the research, identification, cultivation and solicitation of high-capacity donors, including individuals, corporate foundations, and government agencies, to increase, strengthen and diversify funding sources.Directly participate in fundraising with the Chief Development and Communications Officer.Serve as the lead advocate on issues of importance to domestic violence survivors, confer with government officials concerning the interests and the functional impact of proposed legislation, and suggest modifications, as appropriate, to achieve organizational goals and objectives.QualificationsAdvanced degree or equivalent experience in a human services related fieldExperience in the oversight or provision of human services; services for domestic violence survivors preferredMinimum 5 years’ experience in managing staff and/or volunteers, organizational development, marketing, conflict management, grant writing and government relationsStrong leadership, communication, interpersonal and presentation skillsExperience managing a complex budget; non-profit financial experience preferredA proven track record of fundraising (government, foundation and corporate) and soliciting and securing major gifts and large donorsExperience working with and developing an effective relationship with a Board of TrusteesWe offer a full benefits package including medical insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, health reimbursement account, tax deferred annuity, retirement plan, flex spending account, employee assistance program, worker’s compensation and employee discount program, as well as holiday, vacation, personal, sick and bereavement time off.Compensation: $150,000 to $180,000 per yearWe are an Equal Opportunity Employer
