Position SummaryThe Physical Therapy Aide assists in carrying out rehab related activities which are pre determined for each patient and assigned by the supervising licensed therapist in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards.Education, Experience, and Licensure RequirementsHigh school graduate or equivalentHealth care experience preferredCPR certification upon hire or obtain during orientation. CPR certification must remain current during employment.Specific Job RequirementsDemonstrate good body mechanics at all timesMake independent decisions when circumstances warrant such actionKnowledgeable of practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing functions in the post acute care facilityImplement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the departmentPerform proficiently in all competency areas including but not limited to: patient rights, and safety and sanitationMaintains professional working relationships with all associates, vendors, etc.Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential informationUnderstand and follow company policies including harassment and compliance proceduresDisplays integrity and professionalism by adhering to Life Care's Code of Conduct and completes mandatory Code of Conduct and other appropriate compliance trainingEssential FunctionsCarry out treatment programs as pre determined for each patient and delegated by the supervising therapistAssist patients in preparation for treatmentCommunicate patient's response for treatments to supervising therapist appropriately and timelyUtilize therapy software appropriately and timelyExhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patientsAssist in the evacuation of patientsDemonstrate dependable, regular attendanceConcentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgmentCommunicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary teamSit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hoursRead, write, speak, and understand the English languageAn Equal Opportunity Employer
