Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for a Network Engineer, located in Silver Spring, MD. The Network Engineer will design, implement, and maintain highly efficient and secure network systems that support NASA’s missions. Daily responsibilities include configuring and troubleshooting network hardware and software, optimizing network performance, ensuring cybersecurity protocols are adhered to, and supporting network upgrades and changes. The role will require collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to identify and address network needs, as well as providing technical expertise to resolve complex network issues. Qualifications Strong skills in Network Administration and Network EngineeringProficiency in Network Design and the ability to implement scalable and secure network architecturesDemonstrated expertise in Troubleshooting and resolving complex network issuesExperience with Network Security protocols and practices to maintain system integrity and protect dataExcellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detailEffective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholdersBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; advanced certifications in networking are a plusFamiliarity with government or aerospace-related network systems is advantageous
