Please see below for more information regarding the essential functions of this position, required qualifications, and how to apply.You can look forward toThe AVP of ReFlex Underwriting Solutions serves as the senior business leader responsible for the U.S. market strategy, client value delivery, and overall performance of Hannover Re's automated underwriting platforms—ReFlex and ReFlex Select. This role sets the product vision for the U.S. marketplace, leads client adoption and integration strategies, and ensures the successful execution of underwriting automation capabilities that drive meaningful results for life insurance carriers.The position combines client leadership, product strategy, and cross-functional delivery oversight to ensure ReFlex remains a market-leading automated underwriting ecosystem for the life insurance industry.Essential Functions:Define and champion the U.S. vision, roadmap, and market positioning for ReFlex and ReFlex Select to ensure the platform's competitiveness and relevance to evolving carrier needs.Translate market trends, regulatory shifts, and emerging technologies into actionable product strategies that strengthen Hannover Re's underwriting automation leadership.Influence global Hannover Re product direction to ensure U.S. client priorities, regulatory requirements, and business drivers are reflected in long-term development plans.(35%) Product Operations & Delivery OversightLead planning and prioritisation for U.S. product development, including backlog management, sprint planning and release strategy.Balance client needs, commercial priorities and resource capacity to ensure the highest-impact features and enhancements are delivered.Monitor delivery performance and risk, implementing improvements that increase quality, predictability and speed.Evaluate client integration proposals, ensuring feasibility, clear scope and alignment with product standards.(20%) Client Leadership and GrowthServe as the executive sponsor for ReFlex clients, leading strategic engagements, alignment meetings, and long-term adoption and growth discussions.Develop client-specific integration and automation strategies that accelerate underwriting efficiency, improve customer experience and enhance client profitability.Ensure high-quality delivery of new implementations, upgrades and platform expansions, collaborating closely with clients, technology teams and underwriting resources.Proactively identify opportunities for deeper product utilisation, increased automation and expanded features across the client base.(15%) Organizational Leadership & Team DevelopmentLead and develop a multidisciplinary team spanning underwriting, technical analysts, project delivery and product operations.Cultivate a performance-driven culture focused on client excellence, technical rigor and collaboration.Ensure the organization has the right skills, structure and capabilities to meet current and future needs of the market and the platform.(5%) Cross-Functional and Enterprise ContributionProvide underwriting automation expertise to broader Hannover Re initiatives, supporting pricing, digital partnerships, strategic market projects and innovation efforts.Represent Hannover Re in industry forums and partner collaborations, strengthening market perception and reinforcing the company's thought leadership position.You come equipped withPlans and alignsDrives resultsEnsures accountabilityEssential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree (MBA, MS or equivalent) strongly preferred.Demonstrated experience leading complex projects or enterprise software delivery across cross-functional teams (IT, underwriting, project management, vendor partners).Skilled in agile product planning, backlog prioritisation and iterative development approaches.Ability to synthesize market dynamics, client needs and technical constraints into actionable product and integration strategies.Strong financial and business acumen, including understanding of reinsurance economics, pricing considerations and value drivers for carrier partners.Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:10+ years of life reinsurance or carrier experience, preferably in underwriting, product, innovation or digital transformation.Knowledge of U.S. life insurance market, products and regulation.Experience with digital ecosystems, including third-party data sources (prescription histories, motor vehicle records, medical claims, labs), rules engines and decisioning platforms.Skilled at driving agile product planning, sprint management and execution at scale.Deep understanding of client needs and the ability to translate them into product and operational priorities.TravelBetween 5-15% with overnight stay; primarily in the mainland U.S. with one or two annual trips to Europe.Compensation (Inclusive of Base + Bonus)$159,400 - $215,600Benefits IncludeComprehensive medical, dental and vision.Paid Time Off (PTO).Company-provided life insurance and disability benefits.401(k) and profit sharing.Additional ancillary benefits available.Hannover Life Reassurance Company of America (Hannover Re) seeks to attract the best-qualified candidates who support the mission, vision and values of the company and those who respect and promote excellence through diversity.
