Senior Manufacturing Engineer

DSJ Global is currently partnered with an industry leading nutraceuticals company who is looking to add a senior-level injection molding expert to their team in the Richmond, IN area. The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for leading and optimizing injection molding operations within a high-volume, regulated manufacturing environment. This position focuses on process ownership, tooling performance, quality compliance, and continuous improvement while supporting production teams and driving operational excellence.Key ResponsibilitiesOwn and optimize injection molding processes to achieve safety, quality, and efficiency targetsLead process validations (IQ/OQ/PQ), capability studies, and establish standard process documentationApply scientific molding, DOE, and SPC techniques to reduce variation and improve product consistencyPartner with quality and compliance teams to support audits and ensure adherence to regulatory and GMP standardsDrive mold design improvements in collaboration with tooling vendors (cooling, gating, venting, materials)Develop and manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs for molds and toolingLead capital and continuous improvement projects including tooling launches, transfers, and equipment installationsProvide hands-on technical support to production teams, troubleshooting molding equipment and processesChampion Lean/Six Sigma initiatives (DMAIC, kaizen, SMED) to improve flow and reduce wasteEnsure accurate documentation including process sheets, control plans, SOPs, and maintenance recordsQualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Plastics Engineering, or related field3+ years of injection molding experience in a high-volume manufacturing environmentStrong hands-on experience with tooling, mold maintenance, and process troubleshootingDemonstrated project management experience delivering technical initiatives on timeFamiliarity with Lean Six Sigma methodologies and regulated manufacturing environments (e.g., GMP)
