Lead DevSecOps Engineer

Overview In this role you will lead the design and operation of secure software delivery platforms to support Agile teams building mission-critical FAA applications. You’ll own CI/CD pipelines, GitLab administration, deployment automation, and developer enablement, collaborating with cloud, security, and product teams to ensure scalable, compliant software. The position contributes to modernizing legacy flight services with cloud-native platforms that enhance safety and operational efficiency. This role offers impact at scale within a government program and requires a security-focused mindset. ResponsibilitiesOwn software delivery pipelines from build to production releaseDevelop and maintain automated build, test, deployment, and release workflows using GitLab CI/CD, GitLab Runners, AWS CodePipeline, AWS CodeBuildAdminister GitLab platform infrastructure and create reusable CI/CD templatesIntegrate automated security like SAST, SCA, container image scanning, secrets detection, IaC scanningDesign automated deployment strategies for Kubernetes using Helm and GitOpsConfigure GitLab Container Registry and artifact repositoriesCollaborate with Cloud Systems Owners to support deployment, scalability, monitoring, and reliabilityImprove build reliability, deployment consistency, release quality, and developer productivity through automationTriage and resolve build/deploy issues; maintain pipeline docs, procedures, and standardsParticipate in Agile ceremonies while supporting multiple teams Key requirementsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field with 4–8 years of experience, or Master's with 2–6 yearsExperience designing, implementing, and maintaining secure CI/CD pipelinesExperience developing and administering GitLab CI/CD pipelines, runners, templates, and deployment workflowsExperience administering GitLab repositories, permissions, and workflowsExperience Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or AWS CloudFormationExperience deploying Docker/Kubernetes applications using Helm or similar toolsAutomation scripting with Bash or Python; Linux administrationExperience with AWS cloud services for modern deploymentsKnowledge of software supply chain security, secrets management, dependency management, and secure SDLC practicesExperience integrating automated testing and security scanning into CI/CD pipelinesStrong troubleshooting, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skillsAbility to obtain SF-85 Public Trust; US Citizenshipstrong collaboration and communicationproblem-solvingteam-orientedGitLab CI/CDGitLab RunnersAWS CodePipeline
