Engineering Systems Administrator (Solid Works)
Position SummaryOur direct client is seeking a contract Engineering Systems IT (Solid Works) expert to serve as the primary administrator and support lead for our engineering application environment. This person will be the main IT point of contact for administration, support, troubleshooting, configuration, and vendor coordination across core engineering and CAD-related systems.Position Details:Location: Los Angels, CA (Hybrid Remote or Remote)Type: 6 month contract with extension expectedRequired hands-on experience includes:SolidWorksSolidWorks PDM ProAutoCADAutoCAD ElectricalAutodesk VaultCADLinkThe ideal candidate has broad engineering systems experience, can operate independently, and has supported engineering users in a manufacturing or industrial environment.Key ResponsibilitiesServe as the primary administrator and support contact for SolidWorks, SolidWorks PDM Pro, AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, Autodesk Vault, and CADLinkProvide day-to-day support, issue resolution, and troubleshooting for engineering application usersAdminister user access, permissions, system configuration, and general platform governanceSupport CAD and engineering document management processes including version control, revision control, and file/repository workflowsCoordinate with vendors and internal stakeholders on escalations, upgrades, patches, licensing, and support issuesDocument system configurations, support procedures, and recurring issuesAssist with system enhancements, migrations, and continuous improvement effortsPartner with engineering, operations, and IT teams to support business needs and maintain stable, effective systemsRequired Qualifications5+ years of hands-on experience supporting and administering engineering systems or CAD platformsStrong experience with SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM ProStrong experience with AutoCAD and AutoCAD ElectricalExperience supporting Autodesk VaultExperience supporting CADLinkExperience serving as the primary admin, support lead, or main technical contact for business-critical engineering applicationsStrong troubleshooting skills across application support, user access, file/data issues, and system configurationExperience supporting engineering users in a manufacturing, industrial, or engineered products environmentStrong communication and documentation skillsMust be U.S. onshorePreferred QualificationsExperience supporting multi-site engineering system environmentsExperience with CAD data management, document control, and revision workflowsExperience with licensing administration for engineering softwareExperience coordinating with software vendors, resellers, or implementation partnersExperience with ERP or PLM integrations related to engineering systemsBlackstone Talent Group is a wholly owned subsidiary of Blackstone Technology Group, a global IT services and software firm that implements technological solutions across commercial industry verticals and the US Federal Government.
