About New York Junior Tennis & Learning
For over fifty years, New York Junior Tennis & Learning (NYJTL) has honored its founder Arthur Ashe's legacy by celebrating the diversity of children, encouraging them to reach their highest potential through free tennis and academic programs. NYJTL is the largest provider of youth tennis and education programs in the nation, providing services in 100 unique sites across all five boroughs while reaching nearly 90,000 kids. In addition, NYJTL designed, funded (with NYC), built, and operates the Cary Leeds Center for Tennis & Learning in the South Bronx. All NYJTL community tennis and after school programs are offered at no cost to its participants.

Position SummaryThe Part-Time Recruitment & Onboarding Assistant supports NYJTL's recruitment and onboarding operations by assisting with document management, candidate follow-up, system updates, interview scheduling, onboarding record maintenance, and general administrative support. This role works closely with the Recruitment & Onboarding Coordinator to help ensure candidates move efficiently through the hiring and onboarding process while maintaining accurate and organized records. This position reports directly to the Manager of Talent Acquisition & Compliance.
Core ResponsibilitiesMonitor shared inboxes and supported routine communication.
Assist with phone coverage and general candidate support.
Organize onboarding and hiring-related documents.
Maintain records in ADP and other internal systems.
Maintain and organize electronic filing systems.
Track outstanding onboarding items and send follow-ups as needed.
Update internal trackers and logs.
Support onboarding and pre-employment processing.
Assist with required clearances and related data entry.
Schedule appointments and support coordination activities as needed.
Support interview scheduling and recruitment coordination.
Assist with applicant tracking and requisition maintenance.
Prepare and maintain onboarding and interview-related materials.
Flag issues require review or follow-up.
Ensure files are complete, organized, and maintained in accordance with NYJTL procedures.
Provide administrative support for hiring, onboarding, and orientation activities.
Perform other related duties as assigned in support of the Talent Acquisition & Compliance team.
QualificationsRequired:
High school diploma required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred. At least 1 year of administrative, recruitment, onboarding, HR, or office support experience preferred.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Outlook, Excel, and Word.
Comfort learning HRIS, applicant tracking, and document management systems such as ADP.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Strong follow-up skills and ability to work collaboratively with internal staff and candidates.
Preferred:
Some college coursework, Associates Degree or Bachelor's Degree.
Experience working with document-heavy processes and compliance-related tracking.
Ability to troubleshoot minor administrative issues and escalate appropriately.
Job TypePart Time
This position is primarily performed in an office setting with potential to be hybrid and requires frequent use of a computer, phone, and other standard office equipment. Occasional attendance at hiring fairs or onboarding events may be required.
Salary$20 - 25.00 per hour
