Plumbing Project ManagerKwik Trip is seeking a seasoned Plumbing Project Manager with deep commercial plumbing systems experience to join our Specialty Trades Team, bringing technical expertise and project leadership skills to support the planning, design, permitting, and execution of all plumbing projects and will also support service of our plumbing systems across our growing network of retail locations.
In this role, you will oversee multiple plumbing related projects simultaneously, coordinating schedules, budgets, contractor resources, and communication across internal teams and external partners to keep work moving efficiently. Your responsibilities will include developing project scopes, prepare documentation, and overseeing repairs, replacements, installations, and upgrades of store plumbing systems and related equipment. From early concept through final turnover, you will ensure each project is executed safely, accurately, and in alignment with company standards and regulatory requirements.
This position plays a vital role in maintaining reliable store operations, protecting long?term asset performance, and enhancing the customer experience across hundreds of locations.
What You'll Do
Lead plumbing project execution, including remodels, system replacements, new installations, and emergency repairs or replacements
Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to define project scope, budgets, and schedules for plumbing systems
Oversee field execution, conduct job site visits, and ensure all work adheres to plumbing design specifications, timelines, and safety standards
Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including schedules, budgets, RFIs, submittals, and change orders
Serve as the primary point of contact for plumbing contractors and field teams throughout project execution
Manage project budgets, track actuals, and ensure cost alignment with approved estimates
Lead the bid process, evaluate vendor qualifications, and develop detailed scopes of work for plumbing contractors
Oversee contractor onboarding and ensure alignment with company standards, safety expectations, and installation requirements
Review invoices, submittals, and shop drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project specifications
Assess existing plumbing systems, including domestic water, sanitary, storm, gas, and specialty systems, and develop scopes for upgrades or replacements
Conduct site investigations to gather system data needed for design, budgeting, and long?term planning
Assist with equipment and fixture selection, ensuring timely procurement and delivery for installations
Conduct or oversee commissioning activities, including equipment startup, system testing, and verification of proper operation
Provide technical guidance to service technicians, regional facilities teams, and construction managers
Research emerging plumbing technologies, materials, and installation methods, and support pilot initiatives
Stay informed on plumbing code changes, water efficiency standards, backflow regulations, and industry best practices
What We're Looking For
Associate degree in Plumbing Technology, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related technical field (preferred)
6 or more years of experience managing plumbing projects, including hands?on field coordination and contractor oversight
Prior experience as a licensed journeyman plumber in commercial or industrial settings is a strong plus
State plumbing license or equivalent credential (preferred)
Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites
Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar credential (preferred)
Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, codes, installation practices, and project management methodologies
Ability to read and interpret plumbing plans, isometric drawings, and specifications
Familiarity with IPC/UPC codes
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, and project scheduling tools
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
Comfortable working in both office and job site environments
This individual must live, be willing to relocate, or commute to the La Crosse, WI area.
Work schedule: Typically, Monday through Friday with some travel and some overnights. The hours may vary and are based on the needs/schedules of the Store Engineering department. The average workweek is approximately 45 hours. Flexibility in schedule.
