Job Title: Hybrid Cloud EngineerLocation: Washington, DCWork Arrangement: Hybrid – On-site 3 days per weekPosition OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Hybrid Cloud Engineer to join our Information Technology team in Washington, DC. This is a hybrid position requiring the selected candidate to work on-site three days per week.The Hybrid Cloud Engineer will help design, implement, maintain, and modernize enterprise infrastructure across on-premises environments, data center/colocation facilities, virtualization platforms, and Microsoft Azure.The ideal candidate will have a strong infrastructure engineering background and hands-on experience with hybrid cloud technologies, VMware, Azure, automation, Linux, storage, networking, and enterprise systems. Experience working in large, complex, multi-office environments is highly valued.We are looking for someone with a solid and consistent career history who has demonstrated the ability to stay with organizations and take ownership of infrastructure environments over time. Candidates do not need to have an exact background match, but their experience should demonstrate strong alignment with enterprise infrastructure and hybrid cloud engineering.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, implement, and support hybrid cloud infrastructure across compute, storage, virtualization, and data center environments.Integrate Microsoft Azure services with existing on-premises infrastructure.Evaluate current infrastructure and recommend improvements for performance, scalability, reliability, security, and cost efficiency.Support enterprise virtualization environments and core infrastructure platforms.Implement highly available and resilient infrastructure solutions across multiple locations.Develop and maintain infrastructure standards, procedures, architecture documentation, and configuration records.Automate infrastructure deployment and operational processes using Infrastructure as Code and scripting tools.Monitor infrastructure performance and availability and proactively identify and resolve issues.Support backup, disaster recovery, business continuity, and high-availability initiatives.Collaborate with network engineering, cybersecurity, application, and compliance teams on infrastructure projects.Participate in change management and ensure infrastructure changes follow established policies and procedures.Support security and compliance requirements, including ISO 27001 and other applicable standards.Assist with the implementation of new infrastructure services and enhancements to existing environments.Troubleshoot complex issues across cloud, virtualization, operating systems, storage, networking, and identity platforms.Work with technology vendors and internal teams to evaluate and implement emerging infrastructure technologies.Contribute to the organization's long-term infrastructure and cloud modernization roadmap.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.5+ years of experience in enterprise IT infrastructure, cloud engineering, systems engineering, or a closely related discipline.Hands-on experience supporting hybrid cloud environments involving on-premises infrastructure and Microsoft Azure.Experience working with enterprise compute, storage, virtualization, networking, and data center technologies.Experience supporting complex or multi-office enterprise environments.Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities across infrastructure platforms.Ability to work effectively with infrastructure, networking, cybersecurity, applications, and business teams.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work
