Construction and Maintenance Technician IIILocation: Orrville/Athens, OHYour role in our success:The Construction and Maintenance Technician (C&M) III is responsible for the safe operation, installation, and maintenance of Company system infrastructure and facilities, as well as emergency response within the service territory. This role leads crews, performs preventative and scheduled maintenance on the system, mentors and trains C&M Tech I and II employees, and oversees the team in the absence of the Supervisor.What you'll be doing:Lead pipeline maintenance activities such as leak repairs, cathodic protection installation, right-of-way clearing, and valve maintenanceCoordinate and lead operations in the absence of the Gas Operations SupervisorAssist with maintaining adequate inventory levelsSupport project estimate development, budgeting, and forecastingComplete compliance requirements using work order management systemsMentor, train, and provide technical guidance to field crew members; foster a positive team environmentInspect and maintain tools and equipment to ensure proper calibration and operationServe as Operator Qualification master evaluatorAssist in training C&M Technician I and II employeesWhere you'll be working:Primarily outdoor/field workWeekend and on-call rotation requiredExposure to noise, weather, gas, electricityWho you are:Education: High school diploma or equivalentExperience: Minimum 5 years of gas utility experience in a mechanical or industrial roleCDL, Class B requiredAbility to obtain HazMat endorsement within 12 months if not already heldStrong commitment to safety for self, team, customers, and communityAdvanced knowledge of natural gas and propane distribution systems, including underground equipment, system sectionalization, and outage mitigationIntermediate computer skills (Microsoft Office and work systems)Proficiency with tools and materials used in underground maintenance and repairAbility to work independently and collaborativelyStrong communication skills across all levelsAbility to wear required PPE (respirator, fall protection, hard hat, safety shoes, hearing protection)What makes us great:At the heart of our Company is a dedication to delivering energy that drives progress.
