DescriptionSummary:The Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) performs a range of non-invasive vascular diagnostic procedures to support the assessment and treatment of vascular conditions. Operating under general guidance, the RVT applies specialized clinical knowledge and judgment to produce accurate and high-quality imaging results. This role requires independent decision-making within established protocols and contributes to the overall efficiency and quality of the vascular lab.Responsibilities:Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.Conducts vascular ultrasound examinations including carotid, peripheral arterial, venous, and abdominal studies.Applies knowledge of vascular anatomy and physiology to obtain diagnostic-quality images.Ensures proper documentation and labeling of studies in accordance with departmental standards.Works independently on assignments of limited to moderate complexity with general guidance.Exercises independent judgment within defined procedures to determine appropriate imaging approaches.Elevates complex or unusual cases to senior technologists or management for review.Adheres to established protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.Participates in routine equipment maintenance and quality control procedures.Maintains accurate records and contributes to continuous improvement efforts.Interfaces primarily with internal clinical staff and patients in a customer service-oriented manner.Communicates effectively with referring providers to clarify orders and ensure appropriate study selection.May assist with patient education regarding procedures and preparation.Perform other related duties as assigned.Requirements:Education/SkillsGraduate of an accredited vascular technology, medical sonography, or equivalent program requiredExperience1 - 3 years of vascular ultrasound experience preferredLicenses, Registrations, or CertificationsOne of the following registrations is required:Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) by ARDMSRegistered Vascular Specialist (RSV) by CCIVascular Sonography (VS) by ARRTVascular Sonography (VS) state license is required in New MexicoBLS requiredWork Schedule:8AM - 5PM Monday-FridayWork Type: Full Time
