What we are looking for:
We are seeking a motivated, entrepreneurial Sales Account Manager to drive new business growth in the packaging industry. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a performance-based environment and prefers high commission upside over a large base salary. The Sales Account Manager will identify prospects, develop relationships, and sell value-driven packaging solutions.
What you will do:
Prospect, qualify, and develop new business in targeted market segments
Actively manage and grow accounts in the sales territory
Meet or exceed assigned sales revenue, margin, and new business targets
Maintain, develop and strengthen existing client relationships
Respond to all inquiries and requests in a timely and professional manner
Prepare and present sales proposals
Understand customer packaging requirements, specifications, end-use applications, and cost drivers
Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer purchasing behavior
Consistently follow up with customers to ensure a high level of customer retention and satisfaction; resolve customer issues and concerns
Negotiate contracts and work agreements
Ensure that all required client paperwork is complete, accurate, and submitted on time
Provide timely and accurate reports as required
Attend and participate in business/trade events that impact business unit
Collaborate with design/engineering on packaging solutions and prototypes
Support and comply with all company policies and safety requirement
Performs other related duties as assigned
What you need to succeed:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) or equivalent
2+ years of sales or account management experience (packaging industry preferred)
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, lead times, and cost structure in packaging
Track record of meeting sales quotas and managing pipelines
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
Demonstrated ability to make successful presentations to individuals and/or groups at all levels of an organization
Proficiency in ERP Systems and or CRM
An exceptional level of motivation, desire, competitiveness, customer-driven focus, time management and multitasking
