Medical Assistant / Outreach (Cleveland)Salary Range: $20.00 - $25.00 HourlyPosition Type: Full TimeJob Shift: DayTravel Percentage: Road WarriorDescriptionTitle: Medical Assistant/Outreach/ClubDescription: The Outreach Coordinator will go into an all-men's club and do outreach under the supervision of the Outreach Registered Nurse to do STI testing, give out condoms and marketing materials for Central Outreach Wellness Center and maintain connectivity between the club and local small businesses and Central Outreach Wellness Center.General Duties and Responsibilities:Collect patient health historyCounsel and educate patients and their families on treatment plans pertaining to HCV, HIV, STI's, MAT and Narcan trainingUnderstand and educate patients on HARM reduction techniques, administer medicationPerforming administrative tasks, such as creating patient charts and ordering suppliesDraw blood and label appropriatelyChart short description of each visit for Provider or MA visitPerform phlebotomyObtain vitals including height, weight, BP, pain level, pulse, and respiratory rateObtain labs as ordered properly label samples with the first initial, last name, and birthdate as confirmed with the patientCollect samples including urine, throat swab and rectal swab as orderedAny other tasks need to be done by the Medical AssistantHelp patients apply for insurance and medical assistance for our patient populationAdditional Items:Need to make sure each patient is comfortable with their careNeed to be culturally competent while working, including being gender sensitive and pronoun awareDevelop relationship to ensure patients are comfortable with their medical care.Always maintain HIPAA complianceBe able to work with a team of medical assistants, clinicians, and administrative staffMake sure to understand the employee handbook and follow all rules and guidelines outlined in the handbookAlways maintain a professional and non-judgmental attitudeQualificationsRequirements:Emphasis on HARM reductionKnowledge of basic computer skills, Excel, Word, and how to use Electronic Medical RecordsExperience with patient centered carePunctuality an impeccable attendanceStrong communication skills with both professionals and patients from all demographicsNon-judgmental approach to patient careTechnical skills with required office equipmentPatience and great attention to detailCompletely understand the healthcare privacy laws as outlined in HIPAALGBTQIA cultural competencyAbility to work collaboratively in team-based careAbility to adapt to a work environment that is constantly changing and not always structuredAbility to work in a fast paced and, at times, excited atmosphereMaintain a professional attitude and demeanorAbility to multi-task
