Lead CNA

The Lead CNA plays a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care while overseeing the daily activities of Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) within a healthcare setting. This position requires a compassionate individual who is dedicated to improving the lives of patients, particularly in environments such as long-term care facilities, assisted living, and hospitals. The Lead CNA will ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards while fostering a supportive and efficient work environment. Duties Supervise and mentor CNAs, ensuring adherence to care plans and best practices. Provide direct patient care, including assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and feeding. Monitor and document vital signs and changes in patient conditions. Administer medications as prescribed and assist with medical procedures under the supervision of nursing staff. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans. Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Assist in training new staff on procedures, policies, and patient care techniques. Ensure cleanliness and safety of the patient environment, including infection control measures. Provide emotional support to patients and their families, addressing concerns and questions. Skills Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for effective medical documentation. Experience in critical care settings including ICU, PICU, or Level I/II trauma centers. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic life support techniques. Familiarity with caregiving for individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia care, Alzheimer's care, hospice care, and geriatrics. Skills in phlebotomy, medication administration, catheter care, and vital signs monitoring. Experience working in various healthcare environments including hospitals (acute care), nursing homes, assisted living facilities, home care settings, outpatient clinics, and behavioral health services. Strong communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare teams. Ability to utilize Hoyer lifts and other assistive devices safely.
