Financial Analyst
SUMMARY
We are seeking a detail-oriented Financial Analyst with a strong focus on budgeting and variance analysis to join our FP&A department. This role will play a critical part in managing financial planning processes, monitoring budget performance, and delivering key insights to senior management. The ideal candidate will have experience with PowerBI (or similar tools) and a preference for strong data analysis experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Develop and maintain annual budgets, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
Monitor and analyze monthly budget variances, providing detailed reports and recommendations.
Collaborate with department heads to review spending and ensure budget adherence.
Conduct financial forecasting and scenario planning to support strategic decision-making.
Prepare and present financial reports to leadership, highlighting significant trends and variances.
Assist in preparing presentations for Monthly Business Reviews (MBR) and Board of Directors (BOD) meetings.
Provide support during financial audits and assist in ad hoc financial analysis as needed.
Ensure data accuracy by maintaining and updating financial models and systems.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
2+ years of experience in financial planning, budgeting, or related areas.
Proficiency in PowerBI or similar data visualization tools.
Strong proficiency in Excel and financial modeling.
Analytical mindset with the ability to synthesize data and present actionable insights.
Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) preferred.
Strong data analysis experience is preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
2+ years of experience in financial planning, budgeting, or related areas.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
This position requires the ability to read, write, and speak fluently in English.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
This position requires the ability to perform statistical analysis of customer shipping information and rate analysis.
