EAI is currently seeking to replace our Controller due to retirement. In this role, the individual will work closely with EAI team members managing the company’s financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic financial planning. This position will report directly to the Co-President.
Job Responsibilities:
Financial Management:
Oversee and perform accounting operations, including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end closeout processes.
Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
Internal Controls:
Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
Ensure compliance with GAAP principles and company policies.
Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial statement accuracy.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Create an annual budget and lead the process to work with department heads to develop accurate and achievable budgets.
Monitor and analyze budget variances, providing insights and recommendations for corrective actions.
Prepare financial forecasts to support business planning and decision-making.
Financial Analysis:
Conduct financial analysis and provide recommendations to the Leadership Team on financial performance and strategy.
Analyze financial data and trends to identify opportunities for cost savings and/or revenue growth.
Support strategic initiatives with financial analysis and modeling.
Team Leadership:
Manage, mentor, and develop the small accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
Coordinate with external accountants and oversee the financial process.
Provide guidance and support to other departments on financial matters.
Hold team members accountable in adherence to EAI’s Core Values and company policies.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
Stay current with changes in financial regulations and standards.
Lead the tax preparation and payment process with our external accounting firm.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller or Assistant Controller.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Strong leadership and team management abilities.
Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and effectively.
Experience in a 100+ person company (preferably in a growth environment) is a plus.
EAI maintains office locations in Welcome, Mankato, and Chanhassen, MN. This position will be based out of our Welcome, MN or Chanhassen, MN office locations, with the opportunity for hybrid work after a training period or based on level of experience/knowledge. Generally, in-office work will be required for this position. Occasional travel between our three office locations will be required during the training period and during the course of employment.
