The new facility will house 2 full NHL-size rinks, a restaurant, academic academy, dry-land training performance center, hockey shooting and goalie training room, premier locker rooms, party rooms and community spaces. The architect and manager of the project is JLG, which has contructed more than 60 ice arenas around the country. Sarahmay Wesemael-Robbins is donating her time and talents as the creative director for the design and selection of furniture and fixtures throughout the facility. Her work as CEO of Maison DesignArc includes estate homes in the Northeast, modern city apartments and the private Longwood ice facility in New Jersey which serves as an inspiration for the community ice rink project. Longwood is looking to hire a design assistant immediately to work with Sarahmay in coordination with the team at JLG and the partners in spaces such as the restaurant to source, identify and coordinate the interiors of key spaces that will represent the Foundation, the family and the community in the most appropriate way. The work will be intense, creative, immersive and impactful with the candidate seeing the impact of their work immediately displayed in an institution that will enhance the Palm Beach community for decades to come.From late May through early August the assistant would live and work in Southampton NY for proximity to Sarahmay and return to the Palm Beach Gardens Florida area from mid August through the completion of the project. It is anticipated that he role is at leat a 9 month project with the potential to become a permanent position across other projects. During the 9 months, the assistant would support Sarahmay in other projects related to interior design across other projects and properties within her portfolio. The assistant would also support one or more fund raising events in the fall in Florida working on the aesthetic, planning and design of the event.
