Structural Engineer
Industrial Structural Engineer (Remote)
Company: Hawke EPC (www.hawkepc.com) Location: Full-Time, Remote (Work from Home)
About Us
At Hawke EPC, we are more than just a standard engineering firm. We are proudly backed by a parent construction company with a 30-year history of industry excellence. Because we handle both the ground-up design and the actual construction of our projects, our engineers get to see their work come to life in real-time.
We take on highly complex, exciting, and interesting projects across a variety of sectors—from cutting-edge manufacturing facilities and dynamic material handling systems to food and beverage, mining, and plastics.
The Opportunity
We are looking for a self-driven, mid-to-senior level Licensed Professional Engineer to join our multi-disciplinary team. Because we are a design-build environment, you will have the unique opportunity to bridge the gap between structural theory and hands-on construction practices.
This is a remote position, offering you the flexibility to work from home. However, we are looking for someone who thrives on independence and is energized by occasional fieldwork. You will manage multiple dynamic projects, build relationships with clients, and travel to active sites to ensure our designs are perfectly executed.
What You Will Do
Design & Engineering: Utilize building codes, technical expertise, and an understanding of real-world construction to develop detailed structural models and construction drawings in Revit.
Dynamic Fieldwork: Travel to exciting project sites to document as-built conditions using advanced laser scanning equipment. (Note: Candidates must be willing to travel on short notice at times).
Project Management: Manage multiple project assignments simultaneously, ensuring they are executed on time, within budget, and up to our high standards.
Collaboration: Coordinate seamlessly with other engineers, in-house construction teams, and contractors to bring designs to life.
Client Relations: Communicate directly with clients and code officials, actively retaining and growing client relationships through excellent service and technical leadership.
What You Bring to the Table
Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
Licensure: Active PE License required. (A State of Texas PE through NCEES examination is strongly preferred, or you must be eligible for an NCEES transfer. Multiple state registrations are a major plus).
Experience: A minimum of 8 years of structural engineering experience in design, specifically emphasizing industrial structures and material handling systems.
Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of national building and construction codes (ICC, etc.) and diverse construction types.
Soft Skills: Exceptional written and oral communication skills to effectively manage remote work and client-facing duties.
Logistics: Must be eligible to work in the United States and possess a good driving record.
