Specializing in criminal defense and dependency cases, RC4 attorneys defend individuals facing incarceration and represent parents at risk of losing custody of their children. Guided by a client-centered approach, RC4 is committed to delivering high-quality representation within an adversarial justice system. RC4 serves six counties in the jurisdiction of Florida's 4th District Court of Appeal: Broward, Palm Beach, Martin, St. Lucie, Indian River, and Okeechobee. Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Assistant Regional Counsel role located in Fort Lauderdale, FL. The Assistant Regional Counsel will provide legal representation in dependency cases, including preparing and presenting cases in court, conducting legal research, drafting motions, and negotiating plea deals or settlements. Additional responsibilities include collaborating with clients, investigators, and other legal professionals to ensure effective case strategy and outcomes. The role requires managing multiple cases simultaneously while upholding the highest standards of client advocacy within the confines of constitutional and legal mandates. Qualifications Proficient legal research and analytical skills, including the ability to interpret statutes, legal documents, and precedentsDemonstrated experience in trial preparation and courtroom advocacyExcellent communication, negotiation, and client interaction skillsStrong case management and organizational abilities to handle a robust caseloadLicensed to practice law in the state of Florida and in good standing with The Florida BarFamiliarity with dependency law, or family law matters preferredCommitment to upholding justice, defending clients' rights, and working effectively with diverse populationsAbility to collaborate with a multidisciplinary legal team and external partners
