About the Role
As a Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP), you will provide a broad range of clinical services to patients of all ages. You’ll treat acute episodic conditions such as sore throats, colds, flu-like symptoms, cuts, sprains, and minor infections. You’ll work independently or alongside a physician, using your clinical expertise to assess, diagnose, and treat patients, while recognizing when to escalate care to emergency services.
Essential Responsibilities
Conduct physical exams and review patient medical histories
Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging
Diagnose conditions and prescribe appropriate treatments or medications
Perform minor procedures including suturing, splinting, and casting
Document patient encounters and treatment plans in the EMR
Educate and counsel patients on care and prevention
Administer vaccinations and refer patients to specialists as needed
Work scheduled shifts of 4, 8, or 12 hours as assigned
Perform other duties as assigned by leadership
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum 1 year of full-time experience as a licensed NP or PA in an Urgent Care or Emergency Medicine setting (required)
Experience treating both pediatric and adult patient populations (required)
Comfortable performing minor procedures including suturing, casting, and splinting (required)
Proficient in preliminary reads of EKGs and X-rays (required)
Physician Assistants:
Master’s degree from an accredited PA program (required)
NCCPA Certification (required)
Nurse Practitioners:
Master’s degree in Nursing (required)
National certification as a Nurse Practitioner (AANP or ANCC) (required)
Required Skills & Abilities
Proficiency in urgent care procedures (e.g., suturing, splinting)
Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Attentive listening and patient engagement
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
Multilingual communication skills
Familiarity with telemedicine platforms
Basic understanding of medical billing and coding
