Here at Karsun, the only limit to your potential is the limit of your curiosity.Join Team Karsun, and Find Your Next!SummaryAs a Senior SQL Server Database Administrator, you will provide services for databases that support the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) production applications, software development, and application maintenance projects.What You'll Be Doing:Provide database administration to SQL Server databases running on Microsoft Windows ServerInstall, configure, and maintain SQL Server database application with required patches and updatesManage database security and user permissions and privileges in accordance with application/database requirementsDevelop and/or maintain database objects (tables, views, indexes)Monitor and optimize database performance and tuningManage and ensure compliance with database backup strategiesCustomer support to database and associated application development team, owners, and user stakeholdersMaintain Database Lifecycle Management processes detailed by FAA specificationsProvide impact information on proposed changes to application and it’s database structureProvide schedule and resource requirements to stakeholders concerning proposed changes to the application and associated databaseProvide sizing recommendations for any new databases or changes to existing databases, including user/data growth projection and the impact on the server memory and performance characteristicsParticipate in meetings with Solution Delivery Service staff and stakeholdersWork with other database administrators to ensure optimal efficiency and optimization of databases, server clusters, replications, back-up strategies, and database services to FAA and its customers.Required Qualifications:Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or other IT degree; Engineering, math, and/or science degrees are acceptable substitute degreesMinimum of 8-10 years of relevant experienceExperience in SQL Server database administration in an enterprise environmentExtensive experience on SQL Server hosted on On-premise, AWS EC2, AWS RDS or equivalent; Experience in AWS S3, AWS Data Migration ServicesSQL Server database administration experience (Versions: 2012, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2019, 2022)Experience in Microsoft based server environmentsExperience in Database Lifecycle Management (DLM)Experience in Data Scrubbing, Data Masking, Data Compare and Review.Experience in improving Database user / systems authentication robustness.AWS and/or Azure experience Relevant certificationThe ability to successfully obtain and maintain a U.S. Suitability/Public Trust Background ClearancePreferred Qualifications:Operating in traditional and agile project modelsWorking with PTC Integrity (DLM software) is a plusInstallation and management of Always On Availability GroupsSetup and maintain Transparent Data Encryption and column-level encryptionDeployment of Integration Services packages and Reporting Services reports.Experience with AWS RDS PostgreSQL and Aurora PosgreSQLDevOps toolchain services (GIT, Ansible Tower, Artifactory, Jenkins, Vault secrets management)Things to Know:Commitment to Non-DiscriminationAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to disability, status as a protected veteran or any other status protected by applicable federal, state, local, or international law.Salary RangeThe proposed salary range for this role is $117,000 to $127,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
