Summary : The Manager, Sterile Processing coordinates and manages the services, procedures, and activities in the sterile processing department. Is accountable for oversight of the administrative, fiscal, and daily operations to ensure all clinical and technical activities meet regulatory compliance standards. Job Description: KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: 1. Effectively manages team members in a manner consistent with ThedaCare policies and values. Ensures the recruitment and retention of competent team members to meet the needs of the business operations of the department. 2. Is accountable for daily activities and work processes that result in quality outcomes. 3. Oversees and ensures accuracy of time and attendance and payroll practices. 4. Ensures optimal sterile processing performance through quality controls established within the department and set forth by national accrediting bodies. 5. Is responsible for the ongoing maintenance of instruments and instrument sets including maintaining the sterilizer log parameters, sterilizer testing, and maintaining the equipment tray procedure books. 6. Oversees and ensures the decontamination, reassembly, and sterilization of instruments and instrument trays to meet regulatory standards. 7. In collaboration with the infection prevention department, ensures training, auditing, and compliance with the high level disinfection practices as established by The Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI). 8. Works closely with the biomedical department to manage the instrument and equipment repair process. 9. Works closely with the materials and supply chain department for inventory management. 10. Works collaboratively with offsite clinics to ensure proper handling, decontamination, reprocessing, and distribution of instruments and equipment. QUALIFICATIONS: • Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare related field • Five years of progressive responsibility in a healthcare setting • Three years of leadership experience to include leading teams and/or projects • Central Sterile Processing certification (CBSPD or IAHCSMM) must be achieved within one year of hire PHYSICAL DEMANDS: • Ability to move freely (standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing, and pulling) and lift up to a maximum of twenty-five (25) pounds without assistance • Job classification is exposed to blood borne pathogens (blood or bodily fluids) while performing job duties WORK ENVIRONMENT: • Climate controlled department setting with daily movement throughout the facility • Interaction with department members and other healthcare providers Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Scheduled FTE: 1 Location: ThedaCare Regional Medical Center - Appleton - Appleton,Wisconsin Overtime Exempt: Yes
