HVAC Service Technician

The Commercial HVAC Service Technician provides technical support to customers through diagnostics, emergency service, repair, and preventative maintenance of commercial HVAC, building control, and refrigeration systems. This role requires a highly skilled technician who is proficient in servicing, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing air conditioning, heating, and refrigeration equipment and related systems (including large package units, chillers, boilers, make-up air, refrigerated storage, etc.).Key Responsibilities:Service Calls & RepairsRespond to service calls to troubleshoot, diagnose, and recommend corrective actionsCommunicate with the customer and advise on appropriate needs to repair systems and maintain functionalityRepair or replace defective components and complete all required documentationCommunicate status of service with customer upon completion and obtain signature for services performedPreventative MaintenancePerform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM) for assigned clients efficiently and accuratelyInspect equipment, identify abnormalities, and communicate findings clearly to clientsComplete detailed work orders and obtain client signatures for services performedProfessionalism & Technical ExpertiseCommitted to providing excellent service and building strong relationshipsCommitted to continuously expanding trade knowledge to include equipment operation, trade practices, new technology, and updated processes.Maintain a high standard of workmanship and technical accuracyClient ServiceMaintain strong client relationships through effective communication, preparation, and follow-throughAddress client concerns promptly and implement corrective actions as neededOn Time - Every TimeDemonstrate strong time management and reliabilityArrive on schedule, complete tasks efficiently, and check in/out with clients as requiredRequired Experience & Qualifications:Minimum of 6+ years of experience in HVAC service, maintenance, diagnostics, and repair (commercial preferred)HVAC Journeyman or Master's LicenseEPA-approved CFC CertificationStrong knowledge of refrigeration cycle, theory, electrical,Proven experience troubleshooting and repairing equipment such as but not limited to:Package units (up to and beyond 75 tons)Air Cooled and Water-Cooled ChillersBoilersDX Split SystemsVRFVRF service experience is a plusKnowledge of current OSHA safety regulations and applicable building codesExcellent communication, client service, and time management skillsValid driver's license with a good driving recordPhysical RequirementsAbility to work skillfully with hands and toolsLift and carry objects more than 50lbsGood vision (natural or corrected)Climb and maintain balance on ladders and scaffoldsAbility to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, and work in varying environmentsWork ScheduleFull-time positionParticipation in an on-call dispatch rotation, including occasional evenings and weekendsAttitudes & Behaviors for SuccessSelf-motivated with strong personal accountabilityProfessional demeanor and strong work ethicDetail-oriented with accurate documentation skillsAbility to clearly explain technical issues to clientsEnjoys working in a fast-paced, client-focused environmentCommitment to safety, teamwork, and continuous learningUnion RequirementWe are a union contractor.
